Job Description Job Responsibilities Key Deliverables: To allow the post holder, with appropriate supervision, to work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner as their training affords and within the scope of their local job description, to engage in: Delivering low-intensity evidence-based interventions for children and young people in educational settings with mild to moderate mental health problems. Helping children and young people who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. Supporting and facilitating staff in educational settings to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing. Working within educational environments to improve access to specialist mental health services. Implementing a group/whole school approach and consulting on referrals. Utilizing acquired skills, knowledge, and abilities to deliver a service based within educational settings that builds on and reinforces existing initiatives. Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential: Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner or CYP Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with an additional CBT qualification. Desirable: A further relevant degree qualification. Teaching qualification. Previous Experience Essential: Experience working with children and young people, their families, and others in a healthcare or school setting. Experience liaising with a variety of agencies and stakeholders. Experience working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties. Experience working with anxiety disorders. Experience working with affective disorders. Experience delivering specific low-intensity therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families (e.g., CBT, solution-focused brief therapy). Ability to conduct group therapeutic interventions with children and their families. Desirable: Experience working with children and their families in an educational setting. Experience monitoring and recording outcome measures for children's emotional wellbeing. Experience navigating complex social systems and environments. Experience working with looked-after children. Experience working with other vulnerable groups. Skills Essential: Excellent communication skills. Able to maintain electronic patient records and use Microsoft Word.
