The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C is seeking experienced candidates to fill the new and challenging role of Graduate Project Engineer on site at Bridgewater, Somerset.

Accountabilities:

Identification & development of services required for contractor mobilisation to site & through scope for enabling services including Temporary power, lighting, HVAC / LEV, access, lifting & logistical support. Assist in the analysis of allowable & disallowable services as per Tier 1 contract documentation. Drive the scope capture & costing exercises. Assist in the identification of programme risks through planning (cost model - including well-defined scope inclusions & exclusions) and delivery schedules. Sound understanding of Temporary Works & Permit to Work procedures in construction. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Adhere to Project Governance, Client standards, and wider procedures. Prioritise workloads within the team. Directly report to the Site Construction Services Senior Project Engineer.

Key Deliverables:

Assist in the identification of Tier 1 Contractor requirements and scope capture exercises. Assist in the analysis of construction proposals for Temporary Electrical, Lifting, Temporary Works, HVAC, and Logistics, factoring design, cost, site-wide resource levels, ongoing commitments, supplier lead times, and required by dates. Oversee the design & installation of enabling services. Production of build schedule & adherence to schedule, providing data on forecast/planned & actuals.

Minimum Requirements:

In line with MEH Onboarding matrix, Level 3 qualified in a technical or construction-related discipline, or demonstrable relatable experience. Experience in a construction/project engineering-based environment. Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including a good level of understanding in Excel. Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher). CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (desirable). SSSTS / SMSTS (desirable). Track record in construction or nuclear projects preferred.
