The Technical Data Manager plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of robust and architecturally sound data solutions for Bupa Dental Care. This role focuses on the line and strategic management and technology aspects of data, ensuring that our data infrastructure and processes are aligned with business goals. The Technical Data Manager, reporting to the Head of Solutions and BI, will work closely with data engineers, business intelligence teams, application support teams, and stakeholders, leveraging Agile methodologies to meet business needs and ensure efficient project and BAU delivery. Responsibilities:

Oversee the development and implementation of data strategies and technologies to ensure the efficient handling, storage, and retrieval of data. Collaborate with the Engineering Team, including Data Engineers, BI Analysts, Software Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure seamless and timely product delivery. Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders regarding the development and delivery of data solutions, ensuring consistent engagement and a positive, approachable presence. Manage and communicate the prioritised workload to the business and look at scheduling conflicts to offer prioritised options. Proactively identify and remove both team and organizational impediments to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Manage the data lifecycle, from data acquisition and storage to processing and analysis, ensuring quality and integrity of data, architecture, and design. Encourage continuous improvement in the data engineering and analytics teams, supporting those teams in identifying ways and implementing technology and code to support our data and analytics ecosystem. Line management of the data engineers as well as the Lead BI Analyst, supporting them through regular 1:1s, objective setting, and guidance. Apply Agile techniques, including User Stories, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration (CI). Develop and maintain data architecture, infrastructure, and analytics to support business needs through delegation and line management. Understand and encourage best practices, helping the teams with continuous improvement with ways to drive technology forward. Use Azure DevOps or equivalent tools for managing and tracking development workflows. Report on the scheduled work pipeline and illustrate the workload that is being done to the business. Effectively communicate with stakeholders and build strong relationships to ensure alignment on project goals and delivery timelines. Thrive in a collaborative environment, fostering teamwork and shared objectives. Minimum Requirements:

Experience in a data management role in a software development and/or healthcare environment, or similar. Strong passion for Agile methodologies and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Proven experience in stakeholder management with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a keen ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL databases, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI. Line management experience of a technical team. Experience with Scrum and Agile frameworks. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to work autonomously under minimal supervision.
