The role provides the opportunity to work in both outpatient and community settings, providing services to a wide range of clients. CTM has a range of specialty services which support the outpatient & community team, including clinical specialisms such as palliative care, AAC, Head & Neck, and Dementia. We are particularly keen to ensure our patients have access to communication support as a priority, and this post will include the opportunity to provide therapy to communication patients. Patients can be seen in their home, in clinic, or via virtual platforms as appropriate. We have excellent resources to support both communication and swallowing work, including access to instrumental assessments to support clinical decision making. We have regular staff workshops and understand the importance of staff having regular clinical supervision and access to opportunities for professional development. You will be a core member of the OPD/community team, providing communication & swallowing assessment & intervention to patients with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to stroke, progressive neurology, and respiratory patients. There is the opportunity to be involved in the training of carers and other staff within the UHB. You will be line managed by one of the band 7 outpatient team members. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. About Us

Qualifications and Knowledge

Speech & Language Therapy Degree Member of HCPC Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for adult clients RCSLT dysphagia accredited training Member of RCSLT clinical excellence network in relevant clinical area Experience of training, teaching, and supervising others Experience

Significant post-grad experience in adult services Experience in performing complex assessments Experience of working with support workers/TIs Experience of working with acquired neurological disorders Experience of running support and therapy groups for patients Experience of partnership working with other agencies Aptitude, Abilities and Skills

Able to analyze complex assessment information for complex cases and make complex decisions Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, counseling, and empathy Experience of teaching others Skills in analyzing and communicating highly complex assessment information Personal initiative Resilience to emotionally demanding situations Responsible and accountable Disclosure and Barring Service Check
