We are looking to recruit a person who will work well within a small admin team who work closely together to support each other, therefore while the candidate must be able to prioritise and manage their own workload, an enthusiastic and flexible approach is necessary. This role involves working closely with patients, medical, nursing and admin staff. The post holder will be required to provide an efficient administrative service to the clinicians and their teams. The ability to work independently and follow the policies and procedures for your department is essential. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, reliability and must have an organised approach to work. This role has variety and ad-hoc demands and post holders must possess excellent time management and planning skills. The position provides the opportunity to work within a very supportive and welcoming team and to further develop existing knowledge and skills. Previous administration/secretarial experience in an NHS environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be given. Job responsibilities
A welcoming personality and a caring nature are required for this role - as you will be dealing with very sensitive information, proven methods of validation to ensure confidentiality is maintained is essential and complying with HFEA code of practice. Working within a team of administrative staff within a busy fertility centre to provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial support service to Consultants, Medical Staff and other clinical members of their team i.e. Specialist Nurses. Communicates with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of the team. Provide telephone and email cover for patient contact. Provide cover for Senior Team Leader as required.
