We are seeking a
Senior Infrastructure Support Engineer
to support, maintain, and improve IT systems and infrastructure for a leading company in a creative industry. This is an onsite role based near Warrington with a competitive salary of £40k–£45k. Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve the server environment, ensuring security and compliance Monitor the network and address risks or required improvements Manage Active Directory, SQL servers, and business communication systems Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs Support public-facing web servers and secure data transfers Design and implement system improvements, overseeing projects from start to finish Mentor junior engineers and provide 1st/2nd line support when necessary Document IT systems, maintain licensing compliance, and manage backups Provide emergency out-of-hours assistance when required Strong Knowledge and Experience in:
Server hardware, FC & iSCSI configuration, and SAN storage Microsoft Hyper-V, clustering, and Server operating systems (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) Microsoft Office 365 and Entra ID Microsoft SQL server management Information security systems, monitoring, and compliance with security legislation and best practices Secure data transfer methods, such as SFTP, site-to-site VPN, and leased lines Fortinet firewalls and Cisco switch configuration/maintenance TCP/IP networking and VoIP telephony systems Would Be an Advantage:
Experience with cloud services such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Knowledge of HPE GreenLake infrastructure Familiarity with security standards such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Relevant network/server certifications Benefits and the company to be discussed on qualification call.
