New exciting opportunity for a BI Developer to join a data-driven organisation during a period of transformation following significant investment.
Whether it's producing data reporting on the performance of security checkpoints, mining the data lake for insights on car parking and retail, or working across the IT and Operations teams to find better ways of visualizing real-time data to help manage operations - the BI developers at this organisation are hands-on with data in a truly meaningful way.
Responsibilities:
Production of the right BI to enable informed revenue-generating decision making feeding business strategic initiatives. Ownership of the production of quality BI reporting and visualisation for Exco, SLT and senior stakeholders. Design and develop new ETL processes to add new data sources to the data warehouse and transform through to the dimensional model. Optimisation and continuous improvement of BI environment to meet the growing business demand ensuring no impact on performance, recommending aggregation and materialised views to enable this. Work with BI Intelligence Lead and commercial stakeholders in running user acceptance testing initiatives. Maintenance and improvement of existing ETL loads to move from batch window loads to real-time streaming of data. Design and develop Power BI dashboards delivering insight and actionable intelligence.
Key Skills: Experience working as a BI developer within ETL and data warehousing, ideally with use of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) in an AWS S3/Redshift cloud environment, or similar ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS). In-depth practical database development and performance tuning experience using SQL (required) and materialised views. Demonstrable experience of ingesting and transforming complex disparate datasets within a warehouse solution; usage of web APIs desirable. Additionally, Python skills advantageous. Understanding of dimensional data modelling (Kimball) and key principles. In-depth knowledge and experience creating Power BI reports/dashboards/apps in a collaborative environment with internal/external users. Knowledge of the wider BI marketplace, particularly real-time data streaming technologies. Exposure to requirements gathering and interpretation, with proven ability to understand complex business ideas and deliver the desired solution proving incremental ROI to the organisation.
