Mill Team Leader . This is a full-time and permanent position working for a well-established company. It is a very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression. Salary: £36,500 - £38,500 per annum (dependant on experience) Shift allowance: £3,510 per annum 39 hours per week - double day shift Monday to Friday (on site) Week 1: 06:00 am - 14:00 pm Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00 pm Key areas of responsibility: Overall responsibility for activities including milling, intake, and bran out loading. Liaise across all departments to drive mill performance improvements on Quality and OEE. Responsibility for contractors working within the milling areas of the site. Direct leadership for the mill team. Aid the management team in delivering the site strategic plan under the headings of Safety, Quality, People, Environment, Delivery, and Cost. Report on shift KPI's to update the management team on mill performance. Lead the continuous improvement initiatives with the mill team. Encourage and facilitate knowledge/best practice sharing between the shift members, and across shifts. Attend operations meetings as and when required for focused input and feedback. Key decision maker, working within an agreed set of parameters. Lead contact for any escalations. Establish and maintain base settings and routines for centre lining and OPM. Report to the Mill Manager or site Manager in absence of the Mill Manager. Key Accountabilities: Ensure continuity of resources on shift to maintain sufficient production cover - managing your team's holidays to ensure minimum level of cover is achieved at all times. Cascade agreed objectives to team members. Manage all activities to achieve targets. Aid the management team in executing team training plans to ensure necessary skill mix and capability within the mill team. Liaise across all operational/planning departments to ensure continuity of the mill. Recognise and reward exceptional employee contributions. Maintain all Operating systems like WinCC, JDE manufacturing, and Carval HR. Manage and maintain all stock accounts and reconciliations on a monthly basis. Manage and assist with mill shift patterns and any shift consultations. Person Specification: Experienced leader in a food manufacturing environment with a relevant/proven track record. Food industry or milling industry experience is preferred. Able to motivate and lead a team and develop the core values of the business on a continuous basis. Self-driven, positive mindset, embracing diversity and equality in the workplace. Data-driven, analytical, and KPI focused, able to impart and share knowledge and experience in training other team members. Keen eye for detail and quality, and safety focused.
