Job overview
An exciting opportunity has now arisen and we are in the position to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager for our Male Adult Inpatient Service at Rochford hospital.
Cedar Ward is a 22 bedded mixed Male Adult ward, delivering high quality personalised care to people from across Essex.
Main duties of the job
To lead and deliver patient centred care aligned with the trust vision and collaborating for care strategy.
To support and assist the Ward Manager to provide continuing responsibility for the ward.
To provide leadership and support to the unit nursing team.
In the absence of the Ward Manager, to assume responsibility for the management and co-ordination of the unit/dept.
To deliver a high standard of evidence based care to acute inpatient service users.
To ensure the optimum level of safe and effective care within the allocated resources.
Act as a resource and source of expertise to the unit team.
Support the unit team to build on their own practice, progress their career and enhance their expertise through robust supervision and access to training and development.
To ensure a continuously improving service, in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework.

Qualifications / Education
Essential criteria
NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
Knowledge
Essential criteria
Knowledge of Mental Health Act & Mental Capacity Act.
Skills and Experience
Essential criteria
Working within an integrated multi-disciplinary environment and co-working with other teams and professions within team meetings, case conferences and professional meetings.
Desirable criteria
Experience of working holistically with Adults with an emphasis on coexisting mental and physical health needs that impact on wellbeing.
