Underwriter – QBE Portfolio Solutions QPS is continuing to grow at an exceptional rate and we have a newly created Underwriter role to join our London based team in the fastest growing underwriting division within QBE. With a global coverage across broker facilities, consortia / MGA platforms

and algorithmic underwriting across multiple product lines this is a brilliant opportunity to join an innovating and market-leading team. Our portfolio solutions offering has grown from a team of 1 to 12 in the past 5 years. We are looking to speak with underwriting

professionals with open market insurance, reinsurance or binders knowledge who are open to their next move into an innovative and evolving part of the insurance marketplace. Your new role Be instrumental in the review and analysis of the portfolio to ensure continued profitability throughout the market cycle and promote organic growth Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximise influence Participate fully and use your expertise to shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice Follow the annual business plan for the portfolio and its context to be able to make decisions appropriately Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively and appropriately About You Underwriting experience either in an open market, reinsurance or binders capacity. Long tail experience is beneficial, however not essential. Clear ability to build rapport and credibility with varying stakeholders within a market-facing role Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to identify, manipulate and analyse large datasets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to produce detailed reports at various levels Good organisation skills with ability to work to deadlines Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements Openness to working cross-class and learning new lines of business and ways of underwriting Why QBE?
