The successful candidate will report to and support the Maintenance Manager, as part of the maintenance team, working on continuous improvement, fault diagnosis and repair of electrical control and instrumentation systems / equipment at the Plymouth fuel storage and road loading facility. As our EC&I Engineer you will be required to ensure that electrical and instrumentation systems are compliant with various standards e.g. ATEX, DSEAR, BS 7671. You will have good electrical maintenance standards and high-level fault finding and repair skills to be able to resolve outages quickly so ensuring the terminal can operate efficiently. Assisting the Mechanical team where required on all aspects of the maintenance duties, you require good communication skills, be computer literate and have experience in using CMMS, Autocad software and MS Office suite including Excel. Previous experience on typical site equipment such as 3 phase motors (up to 55kw), DOL Motor control centre equipment, inverter drives, flow / pressure / temperature / level instrumentation, automated valves, alarm and trip systems, DCS / SCADA / PLC systems would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Routine inspection and general repairs to electrical and instrumentation equipment within hazardous and non-hazardous areas. Fault diagnosis and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems. Testing of electrical / instrumentation systems. Continuous improvement of electrical / instrumentation systems. General site hazard observation reporting and hazard reduction strategies. Adhering to site safety and performance standards. Updating records and red lining of drawings. Compiling and completing Work orders. Specifying and ordering of spares. Take part in audits representing the Maintenance team as the competent authority. Consult and work with the Greenergy Central Engineering Team (CEP).

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Time served electrical apprenticeship. Minimum level 3 NVQ & City & Guilds in an electrical or electronic discipline. BS 7671. 18th Edition Course (3 day). CompEx Ex01 to Ex04. Experience of working with wiring / electrical schematic / instrument loop / P&ID diagrams. Preferred Working with hazardous material systems. Permit to Work and risk assessments.
