Are you looking to step away from being client facing and timesheets? This firm supports a highly flexible and agile working environment and is happy with 1-2 days per week in the London office. They will also consider part-time working hours. I'm working with a leading mid-tier accountancy firm who is looking to expand their internal Tax Technical team. They are seeking a manager or senior manager to join their growing team. As the firm expands, and the tax landscape becomes ever more complex, it is increasingly important that they have the right structures in place to share knowledge and best practice effectively and enhance the firm's reputation in the tax profession. Key Responsibilities

The role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong tax technical background who is passionate not just about developing their own understanding, but communicating it to others, to make a significant contribution to our growing tax practice. The firm's clients consist of private individuals, owner-managed businesses, large corporates, and non-profit organisations. The individual taking on this role will need to be comfortable working across the tax code and have the ability to move between researching issues in depth and putting them into their wider context, including taking account of ethical and risk management issues. The role is not directly client-facing but does require effective communication in a variety of formats (including written, online, and face-to-face) with their tax people. There is also the opportunity to engage with HMRC and the professional bodies on areas of developing tax policy, and to work with their external suppliers to ensure that the firm's tax team has the right resources to deliver effectively. Key tasks and responsibilities will include (either alone or as part of a wider team):

Contributing to the development of tax risk management and quality control procedures and processes within the business. Developing, enhancing, and maintaining the firm's internal tax intranet and knowledge database. Keeping abreast of tax issues and developments that are of relevance to the firm's clients and identifying where there is a need or opportunity to communicate details of these either internally or externally. Producing tax-related content for internal circulation (including detailed technical bulletins, newsletters, etc.) and various external purposes (including website content, flyers, email alerts, press comments, articles, etc.). Playing a part in the development and delivery of internal tax training. Drafting responses to HMT/HMRC calls for evidence and consultations on matters relevant to the firm's client base. Developing templates, precedents, checklists, etc. for use in the provision of client services. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

CTA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in either a client-facing or internal role; Ability to understand complex developments quickly and communicate them in a straightforward way to those with and without tax knowledge; Advanced MS Word and MS PowerPoint skills, and strong MS Excel skills; Previous experience with MS SharePoint intranet sites and/or knowledge bases an advantage; alternatively, the individual should be keen to develop their skills in this area; Experience of or curiosity around how technology can be used to support knowledge management and information sharing, including creating effective user experiences to enable client-facing staff to find what they need quickly; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to suit the audience and subject matter; Self-starting, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and to prioritise a varied workload; Strong project management skills, with some understanding of likely blockers to change and how these can be approached; Collegiate approach, with the ability to work with others at all levels to drive delivery of the right processes and solutions; Awareness of risk management issues as well as commercial drivers, and the ability to balance these when considering new developments.
