I am currently representing Hackney Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.
We are looking for a Fire Risk Assessor for the role located at E8 1DY.
The right candidate will:
Deliver an excellent fire risk assessment service within domestic housing and properties where housing has responsibility. Undertake surveys and follow these up to ensure adherence to health and safety legislation and council procedures. Take a co-operative lead in the strategic direction and delivery of the fire risk assessment. Ensure best practice methods are used in the execution of the fire risk assessments. Advocate the council’s vision and values at all times. Be fully responsible for the quality of service in respect of fire risk assessments and keep up to date with all current fire legislation and apply it to assessments.
Responsibilities include: Carrying out a type 1, 3, and 4 fire risk assessment programme in domestic housing and properties where housing has responsibility, such as community halls. Carrying out re-surveys as per the fire risk assessment programme and following any major works carried out on properties. Carrying out pre-occupation and post-occupation surveys as part of the handover process for new build properties.
We require the following: Proven and previous experience in the completion of fire risk assessments. A recognisable and professional qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments. Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) technician grade or equivalent. Previous experience of working as a Fire Risk Assessor within social housing or the public sector.
