Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm Benefits: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays Company Pension About the position of Bridging Underwriter We have an exciting opportunity for a bridging finance professional to join a boutique mortgage lender, who are rapidly growing. As a Bridging Underwriter, the successful candidate will be managing unregulated bridging loan application from inception through to completion. For this role, we are able to consider candidates who come from a case management or underwriting background within bridging finance. Responsibilities for the role of Bridging Underwriter Perform the necessary due diligence to support informed lending decisions. Detect and highlight fraud, credit risks, or other concerns while recommending appropriate solutions. Communicate with borrowers, solicitors, valuers, quantity surveyors, brokers, and internal sales teams to efficiently oversee the lending process from initial inquiry to completion. Assess application forms, legal loan agreements, credit reports, valuation reports, bank statements, title reports, and information from Companies House and HM Land Registry. Draft indicative terms and loan offer letters. Compile investment memorandums for investors and distribute them via Adobe Sign. Generate client statements for investors, borrowers, and referrers using Excel. Maintain and update loan records within an Excel database. Manage multiple loan applications simultaneously at various stages of the lending cycle. Ensure all document reviews align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and GDPR guidelines. Support the development and improvement of the loan management system. Keep CRM records up to date with contact details and pipeline loans. Track industry news and trends by monitoring relevant websites. Participate in team meetings and Credit Committee discussions. Prepare papers for the Credit Committee and document meeting minutes. Handle additional tasks and provide support as needed. Experience and skills required for the role of Bridging Underwriter At least 1 years experience working in a case management or underwriting role with a bridging lender Must have bridging finance experience. Capacity to manually underwrite without relying on automated decision-making processes. Intermediate/advanced level of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint Good work ethic and self-disciplined Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work on own initiative.
