We are working in partnership with a leading renewable energy company to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant (Project Accountant). This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation committed to supporting net-zero goals and driving sustainability.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards, managing accounting operations, and contributing to strategic decision-making through financial reporting activity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Oversee general ledger functions, prepare monthly financial reports, and ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders. Cash Flow Management:

Contribute to accurate cash flow forecasting and align financial planning with operational needs. Financial Compliance:

Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, including managing hedge accounting under IFRS 9, lease accounting under IFRS 16, and project finance loan accounting. Depreciation & Decommissioning:

Maintain depreciation schedules and prepare decommissioning schedules. Tax & VAT Compliance:

Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax-related filings in compliance with local regulations.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

Professionally qualified accountant having great knowledge of IFRS, knowledge of IAS 16, IAS 38, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9 is preferred. Proficient in Excel and IT systems including ERP, a broad understanding of ICT for Accounting, reporting and analysis would be ideal. You will be an excellent communicator and very solid operator in the world of financial reporting and compliance. Familiarity with project or joint venture requirements would be ideal but not essential; experience in the renewable energy sector is not essential but desirable.
