Wallace Whittle are leading Environmental Building Services Consulting Engineers who are looking to recruit a Trainee Electrical Engineer to work on some large and iconic construction projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for school leavers or those looking for an alternative to full-time university, where you can earn while you learn and gain practical, hands-on experience. Unlike traditional higher education, we’ll cover the cost of your professional development. The position is full-time based in Birmingham and will allow the successful candidate to gain vital knowledge and experience on the job whilst attaining first a HNC and then a Degree by day release, with additional training being provided via the Company’s WW:Academy initiative. Key Responsibilities:

Assist a team of engineers and technicians with the production of engineering drawings and assist in the production of 3D or 2D drawings using computer software. Preparation of simple engineering calculations and the importance of initially checking your own work. Contribute to providing solutions to design problems and assist in meeting agreed deadlines, and support the administration of projects. Gain industry experience by attending meetings and/or site visits/surveys with Senior Engineers or others in the design team. Increase skills, knowledge and confidence in the role by attending and participating in company activities, presentations and workshops. Keep training log up to date and attend training/Continuous Professional Development where appropriate. Minimum Requirements:

You will need a minimum of 5 passes at GCSE level (Grade A-C) including English, Maths and a science subject. Preferably, you will have a minimum of 3 A-Levels including English, Maths and a science subject (preferably Physics or Technological Studies). Alternatively, having completed a recognised apprenticeship within the construction industry will be considered. Specific Skills, Knowledge, Competencies and Training:

All relevant training will be provided The desire to work in an engineering office environment Good numeracy, literacy and computing skills Ability to manage your own time and prioritise at busy times Awareness of the Building Services Engineering environment Ability to think in a methodical way Good communication skills within a team and externally Desirable:

Willingness to achieve professional qualification.
