Main Purpose of Role A Bermuda based risk analyst, supporting Bermuda’s Property CAT Modelling activity. Working closely with Bermuda Underwriters, reviewing property submissions, cleansing data and modeling exposures within Verisk’s (AIR) catastrophe model in line with Argo’s internal standards and interpretation of the results. Managing outsourced functions of the modeling activities. Key Responsibilities (Summary) Timely preparation of insured location data for uploading into catastrophe models Data analysis including deductibles, cleansing, code assignment, formatting Ensure completeness and integrity of data provided Work closely with underwriters and analytic team (Interpretation of modeling results when required) Liaise with brokers as required to clarify or seek information Develop/enhance new or existing tools to increase performance and accuracy of data preparation process and visualization tools. Support, verify and enhance the data cleansing service provided by Verisk’s Data Services team, ensuring accuracy Additional tasks and responsibility to be given upon completion and mastering above Projects upon requests Required Skills & Qualifications Proven Strong Microsoft Excel skills (functions, pivot tables, including VBA macro development) Ability to optimize/develop solutions to effectively and accurately deal with large amounts of data Strong logic and mathematical skills Understanding of basic building engineering and construction Knowledge of SQL scripting is an asset Ability to grasp complex concepts and effectively manage ambiguous situations Diligent, accountable and detail-oriented, whilst working under time constraint, attention to detail a must. Creative thinking, driven, self-motivator and interest in developing skills and the tools available Ability to communicate well, take initiative, being pro-active and ability to collaborate always. Experience in analytical field/project management an asset Prior catastrophe modelling experience with either RMS or AIR is preferred
