Developer (Temporary Contract - Hybrid, Belfast) Employer: Public Body Location: Belfast (Hybrid) Contract Type: Temporary (PAYE) Salary: £43,575 (+ £10,043 salary supplement p.a.) Overview Our client, a well-known public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer to manage and mentor a team of developers in the design and delivery of bespoke, business-critical procedural systems. The role involves working with Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies to oversee all stages of the software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Oversee Agile software development processes, including feature planning, analysis, design, and implementation. Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories. Develop and implement software using Microsoft Visual Studio, C#.NET, ASP.NET, and Microsoft SQL Server. Ensure quality assurance, version control, and documentation through Azure DevOps Pipelines. Provide technical support for business-critical systems and manage software support contracts. Contribute to database design and cloud-based services, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online. Essential Criteria Applicants must, by the closing date for applications, meet one of the following: A Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computing, Computing Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant discipline in Information Systems / Information Technology. At least 1 year's experience in leading and managing an application development team. At least 2 years' experience in each of the following areas: Application Development, including Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 or later, C#.NET, and ASP.NET. Agile development using Azure DevOps. Database Design based on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later. OR An HND or Foundation Degree in Computing or another relevant discipline in Information Systems / Information Technology. At least 1 year's experience in leading and managing an application development team. At least 3 years' experience in each of the following areas: Application Development, including Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 or later, C#.NET, and ASP.NET. Agile development using Azure DevOps. Database Design based on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later. *ONLY those courses with a computing content of 50% or more will be considered, and applicants must provide full details on the application form of how the content of the course meets this requirement.
