Our client is a leading steel fabrications company, and their Workshop Production team are looking for an Experienced Design Engineer to join our business on a full-time permanent basis.

The client delivers projects on the repair, replacement, design and installation of equipment and full plant systems for aggregates and recycling sectors industries throughout the UK.

You will take on a leading role in aspects of projects from site measurements, liaising with customers and Operations Managers to determine the scope of the project and design, model and produce fabrication drawings.

Some of your key duties include:

Oversee design aspects of projects from site measure to ordering materials and parts, producing GAs and producing fabrication drawings. Ensure compliance with Client specification, scope of works and current regulatory standards. Develop design deliverables. Complete checking and approval processes. Arrange procurement of goods and services. Prepare work scope estimates/quotations. Consider project health and safety, quality and environmental matters throughout the construction process. Liaise with all key stakeholders for the projects. Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects.

What do you need?

Auto CAD experience. Proficient in SolidWorks and PDM or Inventor. Experience on heavy construction or bulk handling sites i.e. aggregates or recycling including knowledge of CDM regulations and relevant design standards. Experience taking accurate site measurements for large projects at ground level and in and around all levels of existing structures using suitable access equipment. Ability to transfer auto CAD to 3D models. Competent working with large assemblies. Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge of British and European design standards. Proven track record as a Design Engineer in either design office and in a construction environment. Full UK Clean Driving Licence.

Terms and conditions:

Standard working week will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with occasional weekends. Potential to work remotely with 1 to 2 days a week at Head Office. You will be on call to customers and fitters during project installations. Travelling to job sites will be required on occasion.

Competitive rate of pay offered, depending on experience - £50,000.00 - £(phone number removed) per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
