Are you interested/passionate about education, teaching and development of staff? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the professional lead nursing team in the BCHC Children and Families Division. You will be responsible for organising, delivering and evaluating specialist training to a range of staff across the 0-19 clinical group and Birmingham Forward Steps (BFS) partnership. Ensure that staff are competent to meet the skills required for delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, mandatory training, and role-specific training needs to meet the service delivery model for children and families. Maintain accurate training data. Utilise competency frameworks to evaluate and provide feedback on skills and knowledge development. Liaise and communicate with staff to encourage uptake of training and sign-off of competencies. Organise and deliver specialist training, including theoretical training and practical demonstrations. Develop and review guidance, newsletters, and training packages for Health staff. Advise and support 0-19 staff in developing and regularly reviewing policies and procedures. Contribute to practice-related improvement plans to enable learners to achieve the required standard of proficiency. Work within the NMC code of professional conduct: standards for conduct, performance, and ethics, exercising professional accountability at all times. Report back to the Deputy Professional Lead any identified concerns. Manage own time and prioritise own workload. Assist the Professional Lead and Deputy in the review of clinical policies or standard operating procedures relevant to this clinical educator role. Undertake audits of policies and procedures in service settings, which support the safe care of children. Liaise and work closely with the Specialist Development Practice Leads relevant to the service. Participate in the Trust's clinical effectiveness and audit programmes and take part in research as appropriate. Keep updated with current trends and advances within the 0-19 services. Undertake individual training appropriate to the grade and as identified at appraisal. The post holder must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager. Applicants should be committed to team working and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
