Our client is a family-run plant hire business who is looking for a Transport Planner who will thrive in a busy environment.
You will be responsible for the delivery of transport routes across multiple depots for a number of drivers and vehicles, ensuring the drivers, vehicles, and routes operate safely.
Responsibilities:
Plan routes efficiently and effectively.
Deliver the Operational Performance.
Ensure on-time delivery.
Enhance vehicle productivity (jobs per vehicle).
Brief and debrief drivers.
Actively work to reduce missed timeslots and late deliveries.
Reduce the number of accidents through demonstrative action.
Resolve any transport issues arising from customers and drivers.
About You:
To succeed as a Transport Planner, you will bring the following skill set and behaviors:
Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to stay calm.
Experience in transport planning in a similar or transferable environment, such as a transport office managing multiple locations, drivers, and vehicles with responsibility for routing and route optimization, transport compliance, and O-licence regulations. Someone who has or is working towards Transport Manager CPC would be ideal.
IT skills; a good level of technical proficiency is preferred.
