We are looking for an experienced Senior Interaction Designer who demonstrates the following qualifications:
Proven experience in interaction design or related disciplines such as UX design or UI design.
Ability to lead interaction design within agile, multidisciplinary teams.
Experience delivering user-centred designs for complex digital services.
Hands-on expertise with tools like Figma, Sketch, or equivalent.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and their application in design.
Experience with HTML prototyping toolkits (e.g., GOV.UK and NHS.UK) is preferred; experience with Heroku is essential.
In this role, you will have a variety of responsibilities that include:
Leading the design of effective and intuitive interaction patterns for digital products and services.
Translating user research findings into actionable interaction designs.
Creating high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to clearly communicate design concepts.
Ensuring designs align with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and GDS/NHS service principles.
Conducting usability testing and iterating on designs based on user feedback and data insights.
Championing design best practices and advocating for user-centred approaches within the team.
Managing interaction design deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
Collaborating with project leads, delivery managers, and stakeholders to align interaction designs with broader project objectives.
Acting as a subject matter expert for interaction design, advising on best practices and trends.
Troubleshooting challenges in design delivery to ensure solutions address user and business needs.
Mentoring and supporting junior interaction designers, fostering their growth and development.
Sharing knowledge and insights through workshops, presentations, and community sessions.
Contributing to the evolution of our User-Centred Design (UCD) practice by developing templates, case studies, and methodologies.
Building strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor for interaction design.
Effectively communicating design strategies and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Upskilling and educating clients and team members on user-centred design methods and the value of interaction design.
