one
full-time Family Nurse to join the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Team in Wandsworth. FNP trained applicants are preferable but not essential, as full training will be provided. The FNP is an evidence-based home visiting programme for first-time mothers, designed to support and improve the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes of young mothers and their children. This specialist role requires high standards of professional practice, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. The post holder must be a registered Nurse, Midwife, or Health Visitor with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with complex families in the community. A sound knowledge of safeguarding and the Healthy Start Programme is desirable. The post holder will be committed to the principles and core model elements of the Family Nurse Partnership Programme. Main duties of the job
The FNP is a national evidence-based programme aimed at improving antenatal health, child health and development, and parents’ economic self-sufficiency in disadvantaged young families. This role involves delivering the FNP intensive, preventive home visiting programme to vulnerable, hard-to-reach young women expecting their first baby. Post holders will develop high-level generalist and specialist skills to work within the clinical methods of the structured programme. Family nurses will be expected to develop therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively within complex family situations to achieve the expected outcomes of the programme. Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration. Degree level or equivalent professional qualification. Willingness to undertake specialist postgraduate training and be assessed on competence in the clinical field following training. Masters level degree education or equivalent. Experience
At least 2 years’ experience working with children, young people, and families in deprived communities. At least 2 years’ experience in midwifery, child health, and clinical supervision.
