Job Title: Youth Justice Practitioner - Hackney Contract Type: Temporary Location: London Industry: Alcohol & Substance Misuse, Children, Families, Young People, Youth Justice REF: 1149386 Job Published: 2 days ago Youth Justice Practitioner Hackney 24/02/2024 – 3 months initially Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 36 hrs/week Responsibilities

Direct work with young people who are at risk of, or have offended Aim to prevent young people from becoming involved in crime, and for those who have already offended, reducing offending behaviours Working in partnership with a range of practitioners across Children and Family Services, police, other local authorities, probation, Youth Courts and mental health practitioners Ensure that children, young people, their families and carers are assessed and effective plans are put into place Support the planning and delivery of evidenced based and outcome focused interventions and programmes Ensure that outcome focused plans are in place Share information about young people with other agencies, when appropriate, to manage risks to others, to safeguard them and promote their welfare Ensuring that all requirements for bail assessments, reports to the court including pre-sentence reports, referral orders, breach processes and young people remanded to the community or custody are met Prepare written reports to agreed standards and within timescales and to present that information concisely in Court and multi-agency meetings Liaise with officials of the Court to assist in the youth justice process When appropriate chair relevant panels including breach compliance and referral order panels Ensure that your work is recorded and maintained Requirements

GCSE Graded A – C (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths A minimum of two years recent experience of direct work with children, young people and families in a youth justice context A sound working knowledge of relevant Youth Justice legislation, policy and guidance Must have court and report writing experience in a youth justice setting Experience in using a range of assessment tools including ASSET, ASSET PLUS or CAF Recruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices. 4Recruitment Services is an equal opportunities employer.
