Hastings Direct are looking for a Pricing Analyst in our Trading Team. Retail Pricing are responsible for developing and delivering Hastings’ street pricing strategy, driving commercial performance whilst ensuring fair customer outcomes. As a team of pricing, data science and analytics experts, we set prices that maximise the value generated through customer acquisition and retention by using advanced machine learning, statistical and optimisation techniques to model both customer behaviour and the dynamic, highly competitive UK price comparison market Hastings operates in. Pricing Analysts are key members of that team, working with extensive datasets and to identify, develop and deploy enhancements to our pricing to support wider commercial objectives. Your Responsibilities

Supporting the BAU price change process, ensuring our high standards of accuracy and governance are maintained. Querying our data warehouses to track and analyse the performance of pricing and other testing activities, deriving insights to inform next steps. Analysing a wide variety of data to support, develop and deploy robust tests of new pricing approaches, to enhance commercial performance. To Achieve This You Will Need To:

Be a fast learner to understand our business, its value drivers and the wider industry context. Think creatively to develop new ideas, improve processes and resolve defects. Have a customer focus to spot problems and opportunities, always doing the right thing. Document your work and ensure our governance standards are met. Skills We Would Love You To Have

Degree in a numerical discipline (e.g. mathematics, sciences, economics). Experience in insurance, financial services or similar regulated industries is desirable but not essential. Some knowledge of modern data science and machine learning methods, and the common tools and technology stacks behind them. Ideally SQL, and experience working with large or complex datasets. Understanding of Snowflake. R/Python or similar code-based approaches to data analytics and statistical testing. Ability to work cross functionally. What We Offer
