Overview

Here at Clouds House, we recognise the courage it takes to seek help when experiencing an addiction and we do all that we can - from the first phone call, to the aftercare following a treatment episode - to ensure that clients’ needs are heard and understood in a way that their addictions had taken away from them. Nothing proves this more than the more than 600 clients looking to return for our annual reunion this year and share in the celebration of recovery in a marquee in our iconic Georgian grounds. That is why, when we are looking for our therapeutic team, we need skilled, attuned and empathic counsellors to carry and continue the unwavering culture of care and unflinching commitment to recovery that Clouds has become respected for. A role in Addictions Counselling is not always easy; it requires a level of resilience, strengthened by training, peer-led and managerial support and supervision, and a need for good self-care. At times there will be challenge, however the rewards are immeasurable. You will be part of a team prepared to support one another and offer the insights and feedback reflective of a healthy team culture, thus creating a robust therapeutic container for our clients to carry out the work needed to recovery. You will have completed a Level 4 qualification and have a passion for and understanding of 12 Step Philosophy/Facilitation and recovery communities. You will also hold clear professional boundaries and be practiced in modelling these for the safety and benefit of our clients. You will be highly effective in communication and information sharing and prepared to learn in an intensive environment. If you feel that you fit this description, get in touch - we would love to meet you. The full-time salary for this role is £24,720 per annum. What you will be doing?

The Addictions Counsellor will be part of an inter-disciplinary team working over a 7-day week which will include evening on-call arrangements. In addition to this, as we know that family involvement produces positive recovery outcomes, the addictions counsellor will liaise with family members and carry out facilitated family work, as well as help family members understand the impact of addiction and access support for themselves. Attention to security, health and safety and risk will also be key aspects of the role. What we are looking for?
