As a preferred supplier to many local and national groups, Fox Morris Group is excited to offer an Information Governance Compliance Officer - Policy position.

Role Responsibilities:

To develop and maintain an effective and close working relationship with the Information Governance Officer (Systems), in the council's ICT division, who is responsible for the management of ICT security systems. Work closely with departmental representatives, information asset owners and assistants across the council to gain an excellent understanding of the systems in operation, as well as the data held and its classification, and ensure consistency of approach. Promoting the compliance requirements and best practice of information governance, including information security, data protection (DP) and information sharing across the Council. Primary responsibility for the preparation, approval and maintenance of the suite of standards and policies (internal and external) required by the Council to ensure its ongoing compliance with all aspects of data protection and information governance. S/he will carry out periodic audits on compliance with DP, information security and information sharing, and recommend and monitor corrective actions to be taken where required. Your role may also include working with local council departments.

Minimum Requirements for the Role: You will hold a professional qualification and if appropriate ideally a management qualification at NVQ 4 level, or equivalent relevant experience. You will have experience of managing service delivery. You will have in-depth knowledge of service specific and professional issues. You will demonstrate knowledge of software packages and in-house systems applicable to your service area. You will be able to persuade others and influence outcomes critical to the organisation. You will demonstrate knowledge of local government and the relevant service area or department. You will have financial experience or training sufficient to manage budgets where appropriate. Good verbal and written communication skills including report writing and explanation of technical information to non-technical audiences.
