Who we're looking for We are seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our Wealth Management division, Cazenove Capital, within the Schroders group. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional client service and investment management expertise. You will work alongside our Portfolio Managers, demonstrating the desire and curiosity to learn both their roles and your own. Your responsibilities will include understanding the analysis, checks, and balances that ensure our clients' portfolios remain in excellent condition. In this dynamic role, you will engage proactively, honing your investment knowledge, tuning in to clients' needs, and ensuring that Portfolio Managers are kept informed and updated.

What you'll do

Support Portfolio Managers and Directors in managing client portfolios in alignment with clients' investment preferences, our internal policies, and regulatory requirements, fostering trust in client relationships. Act as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries promptly and maintaining comprehensive records. Assist in planning, organising, and attending client meetings. Prepare client materials, including meeting packs and reports. Manage the account opening process for new clients and additional portfolios for existing clients. Participate in external fund manager meetings and internal investment meetings across Schroders to share insights and market knowledge. Assist Portfolio Managers with investment recommendations and execute changes to underlying securities or funds upon their approval. Evaluate portfolio suitability and performance, drafting investment proposals. Execute trades in client portfolios in accordance with instructions and investment recommendations. Complete administrative duties efficiently, ensuring accurate checks of clients' transaction statements and monitoring outstanding deals. Keep team members informed about clients' portfolios, addressing any changes, queries, or issues. Balance regular daily tasks with long-term projects, adapting to varying deadlines and responding to incoming inquiries. Engage in our leading in-house presentation programme. Continuously update your knowledge through professional development (CPD). Receive support in pursuing professional qualifications (RDR Level 7), such as the CISI Level 7 Chartered Wealth Manager qualification, which includes 10 days of study leave and sponsored courses. The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

Strong IT proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite. Driving License needed. A keen interest in the wealth management industry. Awareness of global financial news and markets. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
