The Role As a Technology Business Analyst (Tech BA) at Fastmarkets, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, playing a crucial role in supporting and optimising our technology-driven solutions for data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the business, internal technology teams, and external vendors to ensure our technology infrastructure and processes meet the needs of price reporting, including data accuracy, real-time processing, and seamless delivery to our clients. The Tech BA will help enhance our digital systems to streamline operations, improve data management and support innovation across Fastmarkets. This role demands a unique combination of strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a dynamic environment from both a technology and stakeholder perspective. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Requirements gathering and analysis Work with business units, editorial teams, and pricing analysts to scope and document business requirements, define problem statements and conduct root cause analysis. Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements for IT development teams. Conduct workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to refine requirements and validate as-is process gap analysis. Provide business impact analysis, in both quantitative and qualitative terms. Process and solution design Collaborate with IT and data teams to drive the definition of end-to-end business processes across key business functions – propose and validate to-be business process design, and facilitate efficient to-be design workshops. Scope improvement opportunities or business requirements and facilitate tech solution design sessions with solution architect. Document and visualise solution design options and present to senior business stakeholders in the context of given technical constraints and overall tech architecture. Project support and documentation Act as the liaison between business teams and IT teams to ensure smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables. Provide support during project execution, including system testing, UAT and go-live phases. Develop and maintain detailed documentation related to business processes, system specifications, and training materials, ensuring they align with industry standards and client requirements.
