Director of Software Engineering

to lead our Automotive Solutions software engineering team. As a key leader, you will lead the full life cycle of software engineering and delivery to support the Arm Automotive Solutions ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in Automotive or Embedded software, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive large-scale initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for all software development activities related to Automotive Solutions. Lead the Automotive Solutions software development project, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and resources are used efficiently. Collaborate with the business segment leadership to align delivery roadmaps with the business objectives. Lead, grow and mentor an existing high-performing engineering team with presence in multiple countries whilst fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Work closely with Product Management, Technology Management, QA, and Operations teams to deliver projects on time and within scope. Provide hands-on guidance in software development, debugging, performance tuning, and systems integration to resolve technical challenges and drive platform efficiency. Implement standard methodologies and optimize software development processes to enhance team efficiency, improve product quality, and accelerate delivery. Identify and mitigate technical risks ensuring robust security, process compliance, and operational efficiency. Skills and Experience: Demonstrated experience driving large-scale software development initiatives. Deep understanding of the Automotive software engineering eco-system, development frameworks, and associated toolchains. Solid experience in programming languages for embedded firmware and systems (e.g., C). Experience of security, performance tuning, system architecture, releasing and maintenance, preferably within an Automotive environment. Nice To Have: Familiarity with open-source software and working within open-source ecosystems. Partnerships with Automotive OEMs or Automotive tier 1's delivering product to market. An understanding of Arm architecture and Arm software ecosystem.
