Role holder can be located in East London, West London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Leeds. The purpose of this post is to provide support to all staff within the Academic Services Team and the wider Registry Team, with responsibility for specific areas of Academic Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake key aspects duties relating to all areas of Academic Services. Process student withdrawals, interruptions of studies, cancellations, etc., within the agreed time scales to ensure departmental KPIs are met. Update the Student Record System daily, ensuring accuracy of the data being inputted. Support the preparation for exams. Support enrolment activities for all partners. Provide secretarial support for various committees and meetings as required. Collate and store highly confidential documentation. Communicate with staff across the organization. Support the administration for the preparation of Assessment Boards. Input board outcomes onto the Student Records System. Be involved with the operation of Awards Ceremonies. Support the distribution of certificates to students. Deal with queries by telephone, letter, email, and face-to-face from academic and Professional Services colleagues and students in relation to all areas of Academic Services. Undertake other appropriate duties as required by members of the Academic Services Leadership Team.
Minimum Requirements:
Higher education experience. Customer/student-focused approach. Strong IT skills with proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook Mail. Excellent communication skills via email and telephone, with confidence in dealing with all levels of staff. Good attention to detail. Ability to work well as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Willingness to work additional hours at peak periods as necessary to ensure deadlines are met, and willingness to accept travel between university sites and occasional off-site travel. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information within the requirements of GDPR. Flexibility to work as necessary during peak periods and willingness to travel between GBS sites as required. Desirable Skills and Experience: A can-do attitude with well-developed problem-solving skills. Ability to use initiative and judgment to resolve matters.
