The Quality Engineer role at CJR Propulsion is responsible for managing quality control processes to ensure all parts meet design drawings and specifications. This role requires active liaison with classification societies, such as RINA, Bureau Veritas (BV), and Lloyd’s Register (LR), to oversee the inspection and certification of parts. Additionally, the Marine Quality Engineer will handle supplier quality, investigate customer concerns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives towards achieving ISO 9001 compliance. Employment Package: · Job type – Permanent. · Hours – 38 hours per week. · Schedule – 8:30 – 5:00 Monday – Thursday. 8:30 – 3:00 Friday. · Salary – Competitive, based on experience. · Benefits – Company Pension, 25 Days Annual Leave. · Location – Southampton. Responsibilities: Implementation of Company Quality Plans:

Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes across production and supply chain activities. Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Liaison with Classification Societies:

Act as the main point of contact with RINA, BV, LR, and other classification societies. Coordinate inspections, testing, and final sign-offs for certification. Creation of Quality Document Packs:

Compile and maintain quality documentation for all parts. Ensure document accuracy and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Supplier Quality and Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR):

Conduct incoming inspections to verify supplier-provided parts meet specifications. Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and work with suppliers to resolve issues. Customer Quality Concerns:

Investigate and resolve any reported quality concerns from customers. Oversee drawing updates, process changes, and implement training as needed to prevent repeat issues. ISO 9001 Compliance:

Drive initiatives to align quality systems with ISO 9001 standards. Lead internal and external audits to maintain compliance. Staff Communication:

Foster open lines of communication with shop floor staff and encourage them to report any quality concerns or issues they encounter during their work. Act as a point of contact for staff to discuss and address quality-related matters, ensuring that their concerns are heard and appropriately addressed. Equipment Calibration:

Maintain the accuracy and reliability of the production equipment used in the manufacturing process. This ensures consistent performance, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Cross-Departmental Support:

Collaborate with production, design, and sales teams to achieve company-wide quality goals. Provide training and support to enhance quality awareness across the business. Key Attributes and Skills: Strong understanding of quality control processes in a manufacturing environment. Experience liaising with classification societies and understanding marine certification processes. Proficient in compiling quality documentation and reports. Problem-solving skills, particularly in investigating and resolving quality concerns. Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and compliance requirements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration. Detail-oriented and highly organised. Qualifications and Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality engineering, preferably in the marine or manufacturing industry. Familiarity with quality management systems and NCR processes. Knowledge of marine classification society requirements is an advantage. Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and software. Job Types:
