The placement starts in Summer 2025 and will give you the opportunity to work as part of the IOIT Cloud Support Team to provide best in class IT support and guidance to our clients. This is a broad role requiring a technical and analytical mind for working with complex services whilst also being able to liaise with clients clearly to communicate technical information at a non-technical level. Internal training and mentorship are key to the growing team’s success, and you will be guided by experienced IT professionals. By showing intelligence and an eagerness to learn you will be given freedom to develop new skills in a wide range of cutting-edge technologies.
What you will be doing
Become an SME in the Microsoft 365 and Office Suite
Acting as the first point of contact for our clients contacting the Support Team
Follow ITIL-aligned processes involving Incident Management and Service Fulfilment
Assisting with Windows and MAC hardware installations and configurations
Work alongside other engineers to deliver top tier technical support, ensuring all steps and information is logged in our ITSM solution
Performing administrative tasks such as user account creation
Aid the service by creating and maintaining documentation such as technical fixes and quick reference guides

What we are looking for
A predicted 2.1 degree or above in a technical degree such as Computer Science/IT (or related)
Basic understanding of the following: hardware and peripherals including PCs, laptops and printers, AV kits, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Server, Networking including LAN, WAN, firewalls and routers, Applications/software.
Great interpersonal skills and an excellent telephone manner.
A methodical approach to problem solving.
An ability to engage professionally and deliver an exceptional client experience.
An ability to work under pressure and respond to tight deadlines whilst prioritising workload.
You are a student in their 2nd year of an IT or computer science-related degree course. You will have a good grasp of IT fundamentals, such as Hardware and peripherals, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Server and Networking (including LAN, WAN, firewalls and routers).
You are a self-starter with a real passion for learning everything there is to know about IT. You enjoy solving problems in a busy environment and you understand the importance of excellent client service. You believe that the world can be a better place through the effective use of IT and want to help make that happen.
You will be expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic when it comes to managing issues, have a keenness to learn and develop an appreciation for the various client cultures and requirements.
