Job Summary Working as part of a team, we are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Hours of work are Mon-Fri 1.30pm-6.30pm, or 30 hours per week to include 3 late afternoons. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process. Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently. Work with the Duty Doctor in the triage room to book in patients for the most appropriate service. Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Maintain patient records accurately and ensure all information is up to date. Ensure the reception area is organised and welcoming at all times. Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow within the practice. Adhere to all health regulations and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with data protection laws. Qualifications Previous experience in an office or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organisational abilities with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in using office software and EMIS management systems is advantageous. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. A compassionate approach towards patients, demonstrating empathy and understanding at all times.
