Medical Waste Driver - The Role: We are looking for an experienced 7.5 C1 driver to join the Council's award-winning recycling2go team as our medical waste driver collecting from Rushcliffe and Gedling. You will be covering driving duties across the two areas, providing a first-class collection to residents and businesses. Key Responsibilities: Support the recycling2go co-ordinators to provide a medical waste collection service to residents and businesses of Rushcliffe and Gedling. Undertake a range of manual tasks including loading wheeled bins, bags and bulk containers. Carry out collections in a neat and tidy manner ensuring all spillages are cleaned up. Tip at the agreed locations taking into account on-site arrangements and policies. Select tools and equipment consistent with the work required to complete the day's scheduled tasks. Ensure that any vehicle accidents are reported immediately and complete all relevant paperwork in relation to vehicle accidents. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), the Council's Health and Safety Policy and locally agreed safe methods of work. You: Experience of driving 7.5 C1 vehicles. Full driving licence and experience of driving vehicles up to 7.5 tonne. Must hold driver CPC Qualification. A good knowledge of Rushcliffe and Gedling geographically. Demonstrates pride in providing an essential customer service. Reliable/punctual with good work attendance history. Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team. Physical strength and fitness - capable of undertaking heavy manual work. You must be able to provide good customer service and be able to work effectively on your own.
