Would you love to be part of a professional Engineering Team that maintains and repairs a modern and varied fleet of vehicles? How about developing your own technical skills on future hybrid and electric vehicles, all whilst mentoring our keen-to-learn apprentices to pass on your existing knowledge? If that sounds like something you want to be involved in, we'd love to have you on board, and we'll give you all the training and development you need to get to where you want to go!

Stagecoach South operates 500 vehicles over eight sites and our Chichester team are looking for people from a background in vehicle mechanical engineering to be part of our growing team. You may be in a truck/HGV, rail, light commercial or automotive setting at the moment, but fancy a change of vehicle to enhance your skill-set. Likewise, if you've got PCV experience, you'll still find new opportunities to learn given the variety of modernity of our fleet.

Our Chichester depot operates a varied range of vehicles from minibuses up to double deck buses on a daily basis. We operate Alexander Dennis, Volvo, Switch and Optare vehicles to name a few, and we invest millions in new buses so you'll have some state-of-the-art machines to work on!

As part of our Engineering Team, you'll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip-top condition. Don't worry if you've not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) - we'll train you on everything you need to know, and you'll be supported by a great team of fellow Mechanics, Electricians, Technicians and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

It's not all depot-based work - you could well find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won't always be the same four walls you're looking at.

Aside from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there's plenty more we can offer:

Job Security:

We've been going since 1980, we turn over £1.3bn and we're not planning on hanging our boots up anytime soon!

Safe Environment:

We provide boots, overalls and specialist equipment so no need to worry about being safe and protected.

Free Travel:

For you and your companion on our buses.

Great Income & Benefits:

Competitive rates of pay, plus a good pension scheme to look after you after you've hung up the spanner or multimeter!

Promotions:

If you do want to progress, we'll support you every step of the way.

So, if you have an engineering background with a vehicular slant (truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm - if it moves, it's good experience for working on our buses) and have a passion for great work with a great team, then we can't wait to receive your application!

Stagecoach workplace culture is one where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences our people bring to the business are celebrated. We welcome applications from all, irrespective of background, gender, ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation or age.

Location:

Stagecoach Chichester Depot, Basin Road, Chichester, PO19 8DG
