Permanent Duties: Liaison with the local authority planning department, external organisations, developers and the public to provide pre-application highways advice. Processing and assessment of the highways elements of planning applications, including undertaking site visits, working to deadlines. Attend committee meetings and planning appeals. Processing and assessment of Highway Agreement applications. Management of detailed records for all schemes including legal and financial agreements. Technical review and analysis of existing network capacity and safety. Assist in the maintenance of highway adoption, highways search and street naming/numbering processes. Ensure adherence to highways regulations and health and safety standards. Experience: Must have previous experience in Highways or Planning Development Control/ Design including knowledge of the Highways Act, CDM legislation and management of teams and works. A degree level qualification in Planning or Civil Engineering is preferred. Must be able to work well as part of a team with high level communication skills. Must also be able to work to deadlines and be flexible with duties and have the ability to work on own initiative. Must have a full driver's licence. Subsidised ferry travel may be available for a candidate who is mainland based within commuting distance. Salary:
