Growing SME in Birmingham city centre is recruiting a Commercial Finance Director
Your new company Hays have been retained to appoint a Commercial Finance Director by a growing, technology-enabled, B2B business based in Birmingham City Centre.
Your new role As a business partner to the CEO and the Board, you will lead the key financial decisions underpinning the strategy to support the business through its next phase of growth. Although a hands-on role, leading the finance team, and running the day-to-day finance activity, this position will have a much broader commercial focus managing external stakeholders and supporting any future fund-raising activities.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant with a strong academic background and a highly analytical mindset. You will have significant commercial experience and it's highly likely you will have operated as the number one in an SME or a division of a larger business. B2B service sector and fundraising experience is advantageous, as is exposure to two-sided markets and a dynamic pricing environment. As with any small business (75 employees & circa 650 suppliers), cultural fit will be key and the successful candidate will need to be a resilient and ambitious individual who is excited by the prospect of leading a business on a high growth trajectory with an exit plan in the next 5 years.
