The Opportunity: The Engineering Director reports to the Managing Director and sits on the board of MK Test Systems. The Job Holder is an integral member of the Senior Management Team and provides leadership and guidance to the technical teams in the development of new products and technologies. In addition, the Engineering Director leads the analysis and resolution of customer technical issues for both new and existing products. It is the responsibility of the Engineering Director to ensure that MK Test maintain their pre-eminent position at the forefront of electrical testing technology. In this role you will: Develop and implement MK Test’s strategic and operational objectives, including the continued expansion of sales and marketing activities into new market sectors, and the associated development of new products to meet customer and industry requirements. Be responsible for the management of all the engineering staff at MK Test Systems. There is a strong teamwork ethic in the company and there is a requirement that the Engineering Director promotes and supports the continuation of the teamworking environment amongst multi-disciplinary teams across the company. Utilise their technical ability in guiding new product design and development, providing the lead in resolving technical issues. Promote Customer Relationship Management, a key competitive advantage by continuing to ensure rapid response to customer issues that may arise, particularly during the commissioning phase of new product installations. Monitor new and current projects to ensure they are adhering to the programme, within budget and achieving key payment milestones. Accurate and timely reporting to the Board on programme status. What you will bring: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Significant experience in a senior management role within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, technicians and non-technical staff. Extensive engineering knowledge and expertise. Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and adapt to changing customer and internal demands. Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to customers and staff. Programme Management skills and discipline to deliver to time and cost. Location MK Test Systems head office is in Wellington, Somerset, UK (near Taunton), where we design, manufacture and support Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for many of the biggest manufacturers of aircraft and trains throughout the world.
