£45,000 to £60,000 per annum (based on an applicant’s skills, training and competence) Reports to:

40 hours per week worked across 5 days - Monday-Friday Location:

Thyson Office in CH65 4LX but will be expected to visit project sites across the UK occasionally. Primary duties: Develop functional automation software programs that are easy to follow and fault find. Carry out in-depth software testing with the Commissioning team to ensure the repeatability and reliability of the system. Use your garnered knowledge to train and advise the Junior Software Engineers on best principles and guidelines. Attend client meetings and be comfortable representing the company when face to face with clients. Work closely with the site-based Engineers and Commissioning Engineers to continuously improve our standards and help the design team to view their projects from multiple perspectives, including maintenance and decommissioning. Build a clear image of the existing processes and offer improvements and suggestions. Aid the commissioning team during pre-FAT and FAT with any software-related issues. Essential skills: Minimum 5 years' experience in an Engineering Software-related role. Demonstrable experience working on complex automation software systems. Experience with industry-leading PLC hardware and software (e.g. Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.). Must be able to integrate multiple sub-systems into the automation system.
