You will be based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, and will be involved in the care of children and families from the Canterbury locality. You will share responsibility with other Consultants in Canterbury for supervising the Specialty doctor. You will have shared responsibility with Consultant colleagues for Neuro-disability including Autism assessments. There will also be the opportunity to develop a specialist interest dependant on experience, and opportunity to link into the Evelina Children’s Hospital. Main duties of the job

• On Call Arrangements: N/A • Non-Emergency Work in Premium Time: N/A • This post attracts 10.0 PA. Example duties (with approximate time allocation): Monthly Duties: • 5 PAs/ week – direct patient care/ outpatient clinics - general clinics, Look After Children IHAs, and Physical Abuse Medicals with an opportunity to include a specialist MDA Clinic (ASD assessments for children under 8 years of age). • 4 PAs/week - administration work directly related to clinical care. • 1 PA/week – Supporting Professional Activity (SPA). To include attendance at peer review/ CME. We will work with you to shape the ideal job plan upon successful appointment, and review it with you after three months and then annually – so you can keep the perfect fit. We will also provide the essential resources to support you in your duties, including administrative support. Working for our organisation

Qualifications and Training

MB CHB Full GMC Registration Skills and Experience

4 years post-graduation experience, which must include 2 years in paediatrics Basic IT Skills Ability to assess normal child and recognise and appropriately manage abnormality. Training in ASD tool e.g. ADI, ADOS. Experience in Behavioural paediatrics. Experience in Child Protection. Clinical Governance

Knowledge of principles of clinical governance and appraisals. Personal/Professional Attributes

Effective Communicator and team player. Self-Motivated to be able to develop their specialty. Ability to adapt to changing roles and clinical practice. Other requirements
