The Role Here at SecureCloud+ we are seeking a dedicated and talented Platform Automation Engineer to join our team based out of our Stoke on Trent site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions which enable the rapid and consistent delivery of new services. Role Responsibilities Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the design, development, and implementation of platform automation solutions for deployment, monitoring, and management of on-premise and some cloud infrastructure and services. Drive the continuous improvement of automation practices to streamline development workflows and enhance release processes. Champion the implementation and management of automation focussed CI/CD pipelines to automate platform deployment and ensure continuous integration and deployment. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC). Implement and manage containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and scaling applications, emphasising automation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into all aspects of the platform deployment and support lifecycle. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in platform automation, DevOps, and cloud native technologies, and drive their adoption within the organisation. Education and Experience Requirements As the Platform Automation Engineer you will have: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with a strong focus on automation. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field would be beneficial. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with a strong emphasis on automation. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure with a focus on automating infrastructure deployment and management. Strong background in configuration management tools such as Ansible with an emphasis on automation. Experience with source management tools. Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, with an emphasis on automation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to automation-driven issue resolution. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
