Senior Consultant - Transport Planning
To fulfil the role of Travel Plan Coordinator at various sites throughout the UK for all types of development including retail and residential schemes. The work will include conducting and analysing travel survey questionnaires undertaken with residents, employees and customers, preparing promotional material related to sustainable travel and incentives, and liaising with local authorities to ensure that the requirements of planning conditions are met.
Take a lead role in the production of sustainability appraisals and Travel Plans for all types of development including preparing detailed appraisals for walking, cycling and public transport access to development sites.
Take a lead role in relation to the preparation of Transport Assessment Reports and Transport Statements associated with all types of development.
To undertake analysis using TRACC to assess public transport access to development sites and prepare walking and cycling isochrones.
To assist with written advice in the form of Technical Notes prepared in relation to highways issues and transportation policies and objectives of development projects, traffic management schemes and highway improvement schemes.
To undertake traffic modelling as required on projects including undertaking junction analysis using the suite of traffic modelling packages including Arcady, Picady, Linsig and Transyt.
To prepare traffic survey packages, including junction counts, link counts, speed surveys and pedestrian surveys to inform the analysis undertaken in technical reports. To analyse the survey data collected, including the preparation of, for instance, flow diagrams used to present the data.
To assist in the preparation of preliminary design of access, highway improvement and traffic management schemes to current design standards using AutoCad.
To undertake vehicle tracking using swept path analysis and design software.
To review planning conditions and draft legal agreements associated with development proposals.
To assist in the preparation of our micro simulation transport modelling service using the industry recognised software package Vissim to model a range of scenarios from simple signalised junctions to large multi-junction networks.
To undertake strategic modelling reviews to critically appraise strategic modelling results and summarise the results in order to identify issues raised by the results of the modelling.
To attend meetings with Local Planning and Highway Authorities, Clients and other members of the Design Team.
To assist with preparation of fee proposals, identifying scope creep on projects and assisting designated Project Managers with client liaison and management.
Any other reasonable tasks considered by the Directors to be commensurate with normal duties.
