An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Urgent Care Service Fife.

As an Urgent Care Practitioner you will be a first level Registered General Nurse with current UK NMC registration and substantial post registration experience. You will provide a high quality, safe patient centred and effective clinical nursing service in the out-of-hours period to the population of Fife and Kinross. Ideally, you will have experience in Primary Care, Accident & Emergency, Acute Medical/Surgical, or telephone triage. We have centres at Queen Margaret Hospital, Victoria Hospital, and St Andrews Community Hospital. We currently have vacancies for experienced, flexible nurses to join our existing nursing team. You must be able to evidence excellent communication skills, clinical assessment and critical decision-making skills, and be able to work autonomously and as part of a team working within the NMC code at all times. We will support you with access to personal development planning, reflective practice, training, and mentorship. Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service, which will include a range of shift patterns including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Candidates who meet the full requirements of the person specification for band 6 will commence payment at band 6 with no requirement to progress through the competency framework. Informal Enquiries:

Fran Simpson, Interim Lead Nurse, UCSF. Fran.simpson@nhs.scot or Kathryn Brunton, Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Kathryn.brunton@nhs.scot Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
