We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school, which incorporates a well-established SEND provision, seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team.

About the Role As SENCO, you will: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. Ensure that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations. Ensure that the school is equipped with adequate equipment and facilities for special educational needs, including wheelchair accessibility and audio-visual learning aids. Prepare and lead SEN training for Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Assess the specific educational needs of children with learning disabilities and provide recommendations for their support. Produce regular reports and updates on the educational progress of children to Senior Teachers and parents. Provide referrals for children to receive support outside of school hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists or Tutors.

Requirements for SENCO role:

A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND. National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years). In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals. A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
