Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our Group Legal team based at our head office in Barlborough, Chesterfield. The Role Are you organised and proactive with good attention to detail? Do you possess experience as a Legal Assistant within a conveyancing department or perhaps you have worked as an Administrator within a conveyancing or new homes sales environment? If the answer is yes, then look no further, your next career could be with us! Joining our team as Conveyancing Assistant, you will be dealing solely with residential conveyancing transactions and providing administrative assistance to a Licensed Conveyancer. Key Duties and Requirements You will also be responsible for but not limited to: Logging property reservations, preparing and issuing sales packs. Preparing and issuing draft contract documents to customer's solicitors. Undertaking property searches. Liaising with the regional sales teams to provide progress updates and dealing with telephone enquiries relating to transactions. Dealing with and replying to pre-contract enquiries. Deeds archiving and retrieval. Preparing completion statements. Pre and post completion assistance with part exchange transactions, such as SDLT forms and registration at the Land Registry. Dealing with general telephone enquiries and general office administration, such as filing, photocopying, typing letters and documents for fee earners. Who Are We Looking For? To be successful as our Conveyancing Assistant, you will convey a 'can do' approach to troubleshooting along with the ability to work well under pressure. Previous experience within residential conveyancing transactions is also desirable. The ideal candidate will also possess the following: Ability to work independently, prioritise work and take initiative. Hold previous experience of working as a legal assistant who has processed conveyancing transactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confident when dealing with various stakeholders including customers, sales teams, and external solicitors. Strong attention to detail. An ability to work to key deadlines with a willingness to assist other members of the team, as necessary. What Will You Get in Return?
