Global Category Manager for Technology
on behalf of a worldwide retail technology (e-commerce) platform who operates in 165 countries, with offices in 46 countries and a revenue of $1.5bn within a rapidly growing market worth $1.3tr. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an unconflicted and independent organisation that prides itself on tech and innovation within a fast-moving and exciting industry. Responsibilities: Focusing on the sourcing of technology services, you will be responsible for the delivery of end-to-end sourcing projects across the breadth of the IT/Technology spend category (£200m). You will work with Tier 1 vendors including IBM, Oracle, SAP, AWS, and Microsoft, with a large focus on SaaS, which is the real engine room of the platform. You will have a large focus on managing projects associated with the Global Data Centre based in the US. You will be responsible for supporting and engaging with IT stakeholders, the majority of whom are U.S.-based. You may also be asked to support non-tech projects from time to time, notably around Professional Services deals up to £500k. You will be in the office 2 days a week based in Slough. Some travel may be required with trips to the US. Experience: Procurement experience gained in the Technology spend category, encompassing Data Centre, Infrastructure, and SaaS sub-categories. Proven experience of delivering complex end-to-end IT sourcing projects. Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skill-set; demonstrating success in influencing decision making. Experience working with IBM would be beneficial.
