Business Engagement Adviser

Job Description Based within the Chief Executive's Department, Economic Development is looking for a Business Engagement Adviser to join its Business Growth team. Reporting to an Economic Development Manager, the postholder, based within the Business Start-Up and Social Enterprise Team, will provide business advice to a caseload of pre-start businesses, business start-ups and social enterprises. The role primarily involves providing 1-2-1 professional advice and guidance to Glasgow residents looking for support to become a start-up business. Working as part of a team of dedicated Business Engagement Advisers, the postholder will identify and address client support needs. This includes sourcing and signposting to relevant support, assisting clients to secure financial interventions (e.g., grants/loans), and supporting clients to develop professional business plans and comprehensive financials. This role will involve developing good working relationships with a range of internal/external customers, partner organisations, and stakeholders. Hybrid working is available in this role.
