An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Architectural Technologist to become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at ESA Architecture. You will be required to develop preliminary designs into a technical and deliverable solutions involving all aspects of Architectural delivery and coordinating detailed information across all disciplines and providing a first point of contact to the site delivery team. There will also be a requirement to support package procurement and programming in accordance with design and project deliverables, responding to technical queries, reviewing sub-contractor information, attend and lead Design Team and Coordination Meetings, support the Contractor during the build and to liaise with internal project management monthly, reporting on the status of the project. You must have the ability to work well as part of an integrated and collaborative Design team. Have an excellent attention to detail, efficiency and quality. Be personable and be a good communicator with both clients and professional delivery staff ensuring, that we always deliver service excellence to our clients. What you’ll be doing: Be capable of providing strong technical design support to project teams and be able to deliver successful projects in accordance with client requirements and project programmes. Undertake the role of technical team leader, working flexibly and independently where required in support of the project leader while being efficient in managing one’s own time. Capable of managing and supervising technical project teams, together with Client and Contractor liaison. Ability to organize and co-ordinate Design Teams and sub – contractors. Ability to undertake tasks required on the day-to-day autonomously delivery requirements of projects at all stages, including production of design deliverables, providing accurate technical information, addressing technical queries, Site Inspections, condition surveys, monitoring delivery; identifying proposed design change which could impact on fees, change controls, slippage of program to Project Leader, etc. Able to manage junior colleges and provide guidance and support where necessary. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate: HNC/HND in Architecture/Building Construction or BSc in Architectural Technology or other recognized approved equivalents. Eligible member of an appropriate professional institution (MCIAT or recognized approved equivalent). Understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical design guidance and standards. Proficiency in REVIT and Navisworks to achieve project delivery to Level 2 BIM. Have an ability to communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to both colleagues and client teams. Awareness of design change and impact on budget, programme and profitability. Experience of working in Common Data Environments (CDE). Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC). Experienced in using Bentley OBD (Open buildings). Previous experience in the construction / architectural industry. Working knowledge of UK building regulations and national standards. Experience of working autonomously at times, and as part of an architectural and engineering design team, managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
