The client is looking for a Finance Analyst to assist in improving financial performance and making well-informed decisions for future success. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a number of departments across the business to interpret financial data and provide insightful reports for senior stakeholders. The office is based in the West End (Oxford Circus) and the business is a global fashion retail brand.

Our client is a respectable organisation within the fashion and retail industry. This large organisation is based in the West End of London and is known for their high-quality accessories and womenswear. The team is growing, and they are looking for a Finance Analyst to join the team on a permanent basis. The wider finance team is made up of about 12 people, and the Finance Analyst will report directly into the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Description
The successful Finance Analyst will:
Period/Year End, Reporting and Controls:
Assist in accounting for Retail Property costs for month/year end actuals by posting journals and ensuring all costs are properly accounted for.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Update analysis for the monthly board pack, providing detailed commentary on key variances.
Highlight any risks and opportunities.
Cashflow:
Preparation of rent payments due based on store turnover or fixed contracts.
Monthly update of occupancy costs in the cash flow forecast.
Budget, Forecasting & Longer-Term Planning:
Assist the Finance Manager in the budgeting and forecasting processes for stores, providing support and guidance to teams and ensuring all assumptions are appropriately challenged.
Update and maintain complex models on store costs, including store wage model.
Compile budget/forecast summaries and communicate outcomes to senior management.
Support the Retail Finance Manager to determine assumptions for budgets and forecasts.
Rolling forecast:
Update a rolling forecast to assess store profitability.
Prepare appropriate summaries to clearly communicate updated views to senior management to aid decision-making for the store portfolio.
Ad Hoc:
Support Finance Manager with general requests.
Provide Ad Hoc analysis and process improvements as required.
Profile
A successful Finance Analyst should have:
Approximately 2-3 years of experience working in a very similar role within a fashion or retail business - ESSENTIAL.
A degree in Finance and Accounting, and MUST be studying towards the ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong Excel skills.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in financial software and databases.
Job Offer
£45,000 to £55,000.
